Partially Mobile Shallow Subsea Foundations: A Practical Analysis Framework

چکیده

The geotechnical design of partially mobile subsea foundations (mudmats) for pipeline/flowline end terminals (PLETs) is presented in this paper. A mudmat represents a fit-for-purpose engineering solution that has significant commercial competitiveness. lies between fully anchored (which designed negligible movements but may be too large, causing installation issues or requiring corner piles to anchor) and moves accommodate the expansion connected pipeline, suffer excessive settlements compromise structural integrity). suited deepwater soft soil conditions. aim work help mature new concept technology practical inspire future research improve accuracy predictions. objective paper present simple analytical solutions predict long-term accumulated displacements rotations on clayey deposits subjected cyclic loading. proposed displacement prediction framework combines established elements consolidation theory, plasticity critical-state mechanics (CSSM). Typical ranges properties pertinent are provided Gulf Mexico (GoM) clays, analysis example provided. For these conditions, it concluded dominant caused by primary plastic failure. A 3D Discrete Element Analysis of Failure Mechanism of Shallow Foundations in Rocks

In this research work, a 3D numerical modeling technique is proposed based on the 3D particle flow code in order to investigate the failure mechanism of rock foundations. Two series of footings with different geometries and areas are considered in this work. The failure mechanism obtained is similar to that of the Terzaghi’s but there is a negligible difference in between. Lastly, one equation ...

A Practical Approach For Computing Soil Bearing Capacity Under Shallow Foundations Using Vibro-Replacement Method

This paper presents a practical approach for designing, erecting, and testing stone columns using the vibro-replacement method to improve soil bearing capacity under shallow foundations (isolated and raft foundations) for any typical building under small or medium loading conditions. Usually, the vibroreplacement method is used in soils with cohesive layers of mixed deposits, loose sand, or bot...

Lateral Resistance of Shallow Foundations

The resistance of shallow foundations to lateral loads is often relied upon to transmit the base shear forces from the ground to a building during an earthquake. Considering the importance of this link in the lateral load path it receives little attention in current design practice in New Zealand. An assumption is commonly made, either explicitly or implicitly, that the combination of sliding f...

Bearing Capacity of Shallow Foundations on Cohesionless Soils: A Random Forest Based Approach

Determining the ultimate bearing capacity (UBC) is vital for design of shallow foundations. Recently, soft computing methods (i.e. artificial neural networks and support vector machines) have been used for this purpose. In this paper, Random Forest (RF) is utilized as a tree-based ensemble classifier for predicting the UBC of shallow foundations on cohesionless soils. The inputs of model are wi...

Towards a Practical Secure Framework for Mobile Code Commerce

Securing the mobile code commerce is not an easy task at all. We propose in this paper a framework to tackle this problem. In a first step, we analyse the general issues that must be addressed. In a second step we list the possible techniques that can be used for that purpose. In a third step, we build a framework based on the analysis done. This framework has been implemented to show its valid...
